Standardized tests are used to gauge student performance or potential in an array of areas at different grade levels and life cycles. Results may be used to change curriculum, to determine eligibility, or as a benchmark. The GRE, SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, ISEE, COOP, STAAR, SOL, MSA, and GED are all examples of standardized tests but there are many others.
